A 2025 Toyota LandCruiser VDJ79R GXL running on Collecting Cars out of Lane Cove, New South Wales — Sandy Taupe over grey, about 3,700 kilometres, Australian-delivered, VIN JTEBVL3J40B025130, the V8 diesel on the five-speed manual with four-wheel drive. An engineered GVM upgrade, a Superior Engineering coil conversion with a 5-inch lift on 37-inch tyres, power-fold towing mirrors, power boards and a 185-litre long-range tank, with the modification invoice on file. Logbook, owner's manuals and three keys. Serviced in June 2026 at 3,691 kilometres: oil and filter, inspection, prop shaft and steering lubrication. The PPSR check shows a finance security interest registered against it, which is the vendor's to discharge at settlement and is not priced here. 3,899 views and 36 saves when called.

The model says $159,500 and it is wrong by construction

This record's only local figures are asking prices for ultra-low-distance V8 79s in July 2024, $110,000 to $130,000 and above, in the window after Toyota closed V8 orders, and the carried $110,000 is the bottom of them. That value already describes a late, private, near-new truck. Adding plus 25 for private ownership and plus 15 for a late GXL on top of it, and then paying the odometer and the year again, charges this truck twice for being the thing its own base describes. It is the same error this desk made in the other direction on the R35 import penalty.

The stack that is left

Plus 5 for original paint and plus 3 for a factory colour, both the record's own rows, and plus 5 for an engineered, invoiced build that recovers part of its cost while narrowing the room to touring buyers. That is $124,700.

No Australian V8 79 has a hammer in this library,

So the call is that figure moved down ten per cent, as the Corvette and the 86 were, because values with nothing under them ran high seven times in ten across 455 held-out sales.

The call is $112,000

Predicted hammer $61,500 to $134,500, midpoint $112,000.

The asks are used to describe the truck and not as a ceiling

This desk treated four asks as a ceiling on a 968 five days ago and the hammer landed above every one of them.

What would put it over

The V8 cannot be bought new, this is one of the last, and the build is engineered and documented.

What would put it under

A 5-inch lift on 37s is a taste, the 2024 figures were asks in a panic window, and the room for a modified truck is smaller than the room for a stock one.

Where this number came from

The call is a prediction of one hammer. The record behind it is the Australian evidence for the model as a whole, and it carries its own grade for how much of that evidence exists.
