A JZA80 Supra twin turbo on the six-speed manual, running out of Perth, Western Australia — Alpine Silver, 118,652 kilometres indicated and not warranted, fitted with Recaro SR2 seats, resprayed, and carrying rust repairs dated June 2022 that covered the rear hatch glass, a hole welded shut in the tailgate and the upper aperture.

The nearest comparable in existence sold yesterday, 1,269 kilometres away on the odometer

On 10 September 2026 a 1999 RZ-S on the V161 Getrag six-speed made $75,000 at Clyde North, Victoria at 117,383 kilometres indicated and not warranted. This desk called that car at $74,000 eight days before the hammer and was 1.3 per cent low. Same gearbox, same generation, one day old, and the distance between the two cars is one per cent of a single year's driving.

So this call is built off that hammer rather than off the base,

Which is the construction that produced this desk's best R35 call and the one it reaches for whenever a real price is fresher than the library.

Route one, off the Clyde North hammer

Start at $75,000. Minus 0.15 per cent for 1,269 more kilometres at this record's 1.2 per cent per 10,000, which is about $110.

Minus seven per cent, judgement, for the rust repair,

About $5,240. Minus three for Recaro SR2 buckets where the Clyde North car still had its factory seats, which is the library's rate for seats, wheel or cage changed on a Japanese car, about $2,090. Minus two, judgement, because the Clyde North lot carried documentation this one has not evidenced to the same standard — service history, Supra Registry documentation, auction papers, a Car VX history report and two keys — about $1,350. That lands at $66,200.

Route two, off the record's own measured manual line

This record pools six-speed cars with four-speed automatics and has been flagged for it, and the split is now measured: normalised to the 110,000 kilometres the entry expects, the manual line runs $86,700, $75,700, $63,200 and $46,700 for a median of $75,700, against an automatic median of $51,200. Start at $75,700. Minus 1.04 per cent for 118,652 kilometres against 110,000. Then the same minus twelve. That lands at $65,900.

Two routes, three hundred dollars apart, and the call is $66,000
The rust is the only real judgement and the evidence against it is real too

The nearest thing this record holds to a rust datum is the May 2026 Thomastown car, a four-speed automatic sold with a live rust bubble on the rear hatch and the slip-control light on, which made $50,500 against an automatic median of $51,200 — a disclosed hatch bubble cost about 1.4 per cent. On that evidence minus seven is heavy.

Against it

A bubble is a bubble, and a hole welded shut in a tailgate with the rear glass out and the upper aperture repaired is bodywork rather than a blemish. It is disclosed, it is dated, and it was done four years ago, all of which is better than finding it in the photographs. What the market prices on a twenty-seven-year-old Japanese import is what it cannot see, and a documented corrosion repair tells a bidder where to look. Minus seven is the middle of those two arguments and it is named as judgement rather than dressed up as a rate.

This call is conservative by about four per cent and the reader should know where

The Clyde North lot carried a security interest logged against its VIN on the Personal Property Securities Register, and the published call docked it four per cent, about $3,200, for exactly that. The hammer came in above the call anyway. This call does not credit that four per cent back, because the Perth lot's register position is not established here. If it is clear, $66,000 is low by roughly that margin.

The respray is not priced, and the record is why

The strongest recent manual result in this entry is $90,500 at Rouse Hill in March 2026, a Garrett single-turbo conversion on Haltech management after a full respray. A refinish alone is not what this market punishes.

A colour change would be a different matter

At minus six, and the listing's own statement of the original shade is the thing to read before bidding.

Alpine Silver scores nothing

This record prices three colours — Renaissance Red at 4, Quicksilver at 3, Black at 1 — and Alpine Silver is not one of them. Silver is not Quicksilver, and this library refuses family-word colour matches after crediting one Ferrari grey with another Ferrari grey's premium.

The odometer is not warranted and it barely matters on this car

Across the four counted manuals distance and price correlate at minus 0.212, and the highest-distance A80 in the whole record, at 262,022 kilometres, made more money than a 105,809-kilometre car. Condition, originality of the 2JZ and documentation are what sort these cars, which is precisely why the three deductions above are all condition and paperwork and none of them is the reading.

What $66,000 means against the record

It sits between the third and second of the four normalised manuals, which is where a car at almost exactly the expected distance with a disclosed corrosion repair and aftermarket buckets belongs. It is twelve per cent under yesterday's hammer, and the rust and the seats are the whole of that difference.

The band is twenty-five per cent,

The narrowest this library publishes, because this record now carries nine counted Australian results and is one of the best-evidenced entries here. Buyer's premium of six per cent plus GST applies on top of the hammer. Predicted hammer $49,500 to $82,500, midpoint $66,000.

If this makes $75,000 like the Clyde North car did, the rust repair cost nothing and the minus seven is wrong
Where this number came from

The call is a prediction of one hammer. The record behind it is the Australian evidence for the model as a whole, and it carries its own grade for how much of that evidence exists.
