The green band is the even-money range and the one to plan on: half of outcomes land inside it. The pale band behind it bounds eight in ten ($167,580 to $327,147). The path is this model's own: it starts along the momentum of its recorded history and bends toward its projected median as the horizon lengthens, so no two cars share a future curve.

The verdict

A defensible case with reservations. Scores 60/100, ranking 57 of 104 in the over $100k band. Demand durability is the strongest input, risk resilience the weakest.
Running it costs about $11,850 a year (5.6% of value), which is what the economics score measures. All in, including the projected value change, it is $9,431 a year.
The model's five year median is $235,396, a +12.1% move, with the tenth percentile at $167,580.

Scored against every recent Australian sale this library holds, half its values land within 11.2 per cent of the price paid and the rest miss by more, in either direction. Projections are therefore damped toward flat in proportion to how little is known, and the plausible band is never narrower than the error the model is known to make.
This value sits above every recorded sale logged for the model. That is the specific error calibration keeps finding, so treat it as a ceiling rather than a mid-point.

2 completed Australian sales of 2 rows. Rows marked asking, no sale, or context are shown for honesty but do not count toward the evidence grade: an ask is not a transaction, a pass-in is a refusal, and a provenance or overseas result does not price the ordinary local car. The badge on every row is computed by the same rule as the grade, so the two cannot drift apart.

Cost of access is what the car costs to run. All-in annualised adds depreciation, duty and selling costs across a five year hold. They answer different questions and are labelled separately for that reason.

No forecast is used to compute the hurdle. It is the purchase, the duty, any premium and 5 years of running cost, grossed up for the cost of selling and spread back over the hold. The projection it is measured against is the weakest number in this product and is drawn that way in the chart above. Transport, finance and any restoration spend sit outside it.

The case for and against

The case for

Widely regarded by enthusiasts as one of the best-driving analogue Ferraris ever made, with values roughly double where they sat in 2016. The exposed gated manual shifter is a defining feature that has become genuinely collectible in its own right.

The case against

Cambelt and valve service on the high-revving flat-plane V8 is genuinely expensive and non-negotiable on any interval. It is a discerning collector market at 52 days on market, and buyers need documented specialist service history to avoid expensive surprises. This entry also carried $245,000 supported only by a project car at $129,000 - a floor used to hold up a ceiling - until a driver-condition manual made $188,500 in February 2026 and brought it down 14 per cent.

This record was carrying $245,000

- thirty-eight per cent above a real transaction, on the strength of a project car at $129,000 that the entry itself described as setting a floor rather than pricing a sound car. A floor was used to support a ceiling.

The car was not perfect and the allowance is stated

It has been resprayed, the rear grille has been replaced, and the seller disclosed blemishes on the roof, front bar and bonnet plus small bubbles on the tops of both rear guards. Bubbling paint on a F355 is a real defect, not a cosmetic note. Against that it had two large 2024 invoices - a timing belt, water pump overhaul, engine mounts, CV boots, rear discs and pads and much else at Racing Red in August, then header gaskets and a cooling system bleed at Maranello Motorsport in November - so the expensive maintenance was freshly done.

An allowance of 18 per cent for the paint puts a sound car near $209,000 and the value is set at $210,000

The 18 is a judgement; the $177,400 is a measurement.

Australian evidence, earlier

A 1998 Berlinetta described as a project made $129,000 at Shannons in February 2023.

International context

Eighty-eight lots, the deepest record of any car in this library. Overall clearance is 57 per cent but has risen to 88 per cent since 2023. British results moved from GBP41,000-GBP60,000 in 2016 to GBP118,125 and GBP151,200 in 2025 and 2026. The connected part of the price history runs 2015 to 2021, so no formal direction is claimed for the years since, but the clearance figures and the recent British results point up - which is worth holding against the fact that the Australian correction here is downward. A US$60,500 result in 2024 was a third of its contemporaries and has been set aside as a different car.
