The green band is the even-money range and the one to plan on: half of outcomes land inside it. The pale band behind it bounds eight in ten ($89,625 to $192,953). The path is this model's own: it starts along the momentum of its recorded history and bends toward its projected median as the horizon lengthens, so no two cars share a future curve.

The verdict

The numbers argue against it. Scores 50/100, ranking 100 of 104 in the over $100k band. Demand durability is the strongest input, ownership economics the weakest.
Running it costs about $15,100 a year (11.2% of value), which is what the economics score measures. All in, including the projected value change, it is $16,729 a year.
The model's five year median is $134,056, a -0.7% move, with the tenth percentile at $89,625.

3 completed Australian sales of 3 rows. Rows marked asking, no sale, or context are shown for honesty but do not count toward the evidence grade: an ask is not a transaction, a pass-in is a refusal, and a provenance or overseas result does not price the ordinary local car. The badge on every row is computed by the same rule as the grade, so the two cannot drift apart.

No forecast is used to compute the hurdle. It is the purchase, the duty, any premium and 5 years of running cost, grossed up for the cost of selling and spread back over the hold. The projection it is measured against is the weakest number in this product and is drawn that way in the chart above. Transport, finance and any restoration spend sit outside it.

The case for and against

The case for

The cheapest gated V12 Ferrari, one of 31 delivered here in manual form, with the 550 Maranello demonstrating exactly how this profile re-rates once the market notices.

The case against

Running costs are Ferrari V12 costs on a car worth a fifth of a Daytona, deferred maintenance can exceed the price gap between examples, and the automatic lurking in unstated listings poisons casual comparison.

A third Australian result, and the odometer cap decides it

$105,000 at Church Point NSW on 4 March 2026: a 1994 456 GT with the six-speed MANUAL, 81,133 miles - 130,570 kilometres - UK-market and complied here in March 2022, Blu Le Mans over Crema, with a timing belt, adjuster pulley and brake fluid done in November 2025 at 81,132 miles and a new clutch and machined flywheel in October 2022.

The speedometer May be faulty

And a replacement is supplied with the car.

The cap is the story

At 130,570 kilometres against the 40,000 this record expects, the raw odometer term is MINUS 16.3 PER CENT and the appraiser refuses to move any reading past twelve, so it lands at minus 12. Uncapped, the sale normalises to about $125,500; capped, to $119,300.

The cap is worth $6,200 on this car and it is the third record in this library where it binds

- after the S2000 call and the R34 GT-R. It is a standing decision, stated here rather than hidden.

The three results in order

$200,000 in November 2022 for an AUSTRALIAN-DELIVERED manual, one of 31; $120,000 in 2024 for a car whose gearbox the results wrap did not state; $105,000 in March 2026 for this high-distance UK import.

The value moves $185,000 to $135,000

- above the two ordinary results and well below the local-delivery manual, which is where an ordinary car belongs.

Distance, provenance and date all push the same way in this sample,

So none of them can be separated from the others. Three cars is not a fit and nothing here should be read as one.

The cap has been removed and on this record the new curve is worse, which is worth saying plainly

At 130,570 kilometres the capped line returned $118,800 and the curve returns $123,977, against a result of $105,000. The curve is gentler here, not steeper, because a coefficient of 1.8 per cent per 10,000 kilometres read against an expected distance of 40,000 converts to a very flat elasticity, and a flat elasticity extrapolated to three times the expected distance barely moves.

The problem is the coefficient, not the curve

This record carries two counted odometers, which is below what the distance guard can test, so 1.8 has never been measured against anything. The March 2026 car is the only high-distance 456 in the Australian record and it says the penalty should be steeper. One car is not a fit and the figure is not moved on it, but the next high-distance result settles this and the record is on notice.
