Condition, history, originality, ownership, delivery and modification multipliers apply to every car in the library. They are applied automatically when an advertisement is analysed, and the schedule is set out once, on the analyser page.
Projected value in five years
The case for and against
Values have climbed from under $10k in 2016 to $23k now as drift and grip communities compete for clean examples. The SR20DET has deep aftermarket support and parts remain affordable relative to other JDM turbo fours.
A large share of the surviving 1,600 cars in Australia carry drift-scene history with unknown drivetrain wear. Genuine, unmodified S14s are a small minority and buyers need a full inspection before paying premium money.
Known faults and risks
Similar cars, and what they cost to run
This entry previously read the six as saying distance barely prices an S14, and set kmPct to 1.0 on that basis. Its strongest single piece of evidence was a $29,750 sale at Werribee, Victoria, read at 97,205 kilometres against a $32,000 sale at 143,640 kilometres - the car with 46,000 more kilometres making 7.6 per cent more.

The Werribee lot page prints the car's own service table: 161,281 kilometres in January 2006 and 173,082 kilometres in November 2006, against an advertised 97,205 today. The reading is not that car's distance, the listing does not warrant it, and the row is now excluded from the distance fit.
The slope is 1.6 per cent per 10,000 kilometres at the distance this record expects, correlation minus 0.54. That is weak and stated as weak - four points cannot carry more - but it is not flat, and kmPct moves 1.0 to 1.6.
The dearest car, $32,000 at Pakenham in July 2026, carries a Grade R Japanese auction report - front and rear accident repair - and a respray, and it made the most money in the set because it is properly built: Nismo clutch and limited-slip differential, Link G4X, Tomei manifold, Blitz intercooler, coilovers, around 200kW on a dyno. The cheapest, $20,750 at Condell Park in October 2024, is an Australian-delivered Series 1.5 Limited, one of 283 and one of 55 in its colour, in one family from new, with a service trail from 1,180 kilometres - and standard, at 183,777 genuine kilometres. Originality and documented history are what this library normally rewards and this market did the opposite. A thesis on an S14 should price the engine build and the suspension, not the service book.
A 1995 car made $42,000 at Epping, New South Wales in November 2021, thirty-two per cent above the next highest in the set, and five years have not retested it. Any figure worked off a 2021 JDM result is worked off a peak.
$20,750 and $26,569 in October 2024, $29,750 in November 2025, $32,000 in July 2026.
- cars listed as 200SX are Australian-delivered, cars listed as Silvia are Japanese imports of the same chassis, and this library docks an import twelve per cent on a model sold here new. Three of the six are Silvia-badged.
This record is the S-package specifically and these are generic S14s, so they frame the number rather than set it exactly.
$29,000 is the median of the five post-peak results. The four-point distance fit, carried out to the 160,000 kilometres this record treats as standard, implies about $25,500. The value is therefore at the top of what the evidence supports. It is held rather than cut because 160,000 is above the median distance of the set and the tail of a four-point fit is the least reliable part of it, and the next Australian result decides it. SOURCING: four of the six are now read from the Collecting Cars lot pages themselves rather than from an aggregator summary, which is why the condition and modification detail above exists at all. The remaining two are aggregator-surfaced and unconfirmed.
The report prices the car in the advertisement.

One line of email when this desk publishes a call on a Nissan 200SX S-package, or records a new Australian sale of one. Nothing else, no schedule, and on a quiet model you may hear nothing for months, which is itself worth knowing about a car you are chasing.
